BIRTHDAY WEEKEND SPECIAL

This weekend, January 22nd, is my mother's birthday.

My mother had an amazing relationship with the Lord and was always praying for my sister and me, and for all her grandchildren. She would often ask her grandchildren what they needed prayer for; and even just the other day, my son was telling me how he missed Granny saying she was pulling up her prayer socks for him when he had some thing or situation he needed prayer for.

Because I watched as an out-of-control car swept my 90-year-old mother away and ran her over. We were standing beside her car – she was still feisty at 90, living alone, driving the old ladies to church (ie the 80 yr olds!) and this out of control car ran off with her down the road and her life was ended in the tragic and traumatic event.

But over the years I have learned to give thanks for her life and witness. For all that she taught me about the Lord and walking with Him day by day no matter what. And out of the tragedy has come SCENT OF WATER, a book of pictures and words and poems and reflections for those who grieve. It was only published a few months ago and already I’ve received amazing feedback of how it’s helping and blessing those who’ve lost a loved one.
